Why Temperature and Sampling Location Govern the Result
Temperature is recorded at every point of collection, because a Legionella result assessed without it cannot be interpreted properly.
Sampling locations follow the logic of the system: distal outlets furthest from the heat source, recirculation returns, storage vessels, low use fixtures and any location a temperature record identifies as favorable to growth.
First Draw and Post Flush Sampling
A first draw reflects what is present in the line at rest, including material shed from biofilm. A post flush sample reflects what is moving through the system. The two answer different questions.
